Peanut Butter Footsteps
   

Prep Time: 30 minutes

Chill Time: 15 minutes

Bake Time: 10–15 minutes

 

 

Ingredients:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cookie recipe

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp.. salt
  • 2 cups oats
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Peanut Butter Frosting recipe

  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1 Tbs. butter
  • 3/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 2-4 Tbs. milk

Chocolate Frosting recipe

  • 1 Tbs. butter
  • 1/8 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3⁄4 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 2-4 Tbs milk

Directions:

  1. Cream together butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar.
  2. Add eggs, peanut butter & vanilla.
  3. Mix until smooth.
  4. Add flour, baking soda, salt, and oatmeal.
  5. Mix until blended.
  6. Roll dough on lightly floured surface to 1/4-1/2 inch thickness (if too soft refrigerate until easy to handle).
  7. Cut out with foot shaped cookie cutter. (We purchased our’s at a local craft store for 60 cents.)
  8. Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet for 10-15 minutes.

  10. Frost otherside of cookie with “Peanut Butter Frosting”
  11. Decorate by making sandal straps with “Chocolate Frosting”
  12. Tip: To make a decorating bag, cut off the tip of one corner of a sandwich bag. Fill with frosting. Roll top and squeeze frosting out corner.

Optional:

  1. Remove from oven and immediately cover each cookie with (8) chocolate chips.
  2. Allow chips to melt, then spread evenly over cookie. Cool in refrigerator until chips harden
  3. (this will be the sole).
 
 
Kids will love this delicious twist on traditional peanut butter cookies. They can also help to decorate the feet with sandals.
